My parents were both devastated and proud in ways. My mom currently is not talking to me. She will in time.

I would suggest you look into other online ventures as you build your blog/website. You can get a higher than minimum wage job in Texas with some skills and persistence. Luckily it is very inexpensive to live in Texas, so you should be fine.

You can try being a Search Engine Evaluator while you build your business, you'll find a company named Lionbridge which hires those. The pay is $17-20, it is up to how good you are with a computer and internet to get accepted.

The lower tax doesn't really matter much until you are making more income, California took over 4,000 from my salary last year, so it is worth it for me to move and start my business in Texas.

Let me know if you want more information about anything.

Were your parents devastated that you quit your job?

What would you suggest to someone who wants to move to Texas for lower tax, like you did, but doesn't have any degree? Get a minimum wage labor job while trying to build a blog/website on the side until it becomes a success?
